Mark Sanchez has been benched. A collective “Finally” could be heard from New York today, to some chagrin. Rex Ryan finally made the decision to remove Sanchez but only after his team was out of playoff contention.
Greg McIlroy will start for the Jets on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. McIlroy led the Jets to victory against the Cardinals, not impressive but a win is a win. McIlroy is the third quarterback on the depth chart. Who the hell is second?
Oh right, Tim Tebow. Rex Ryan must hate Tebow to skip over his “2nd” quarterback to start the third. How shitty must Tebow feel knowing he is his backups backup now. Don’t worry Tim will find a way to be positive.
When it comes to Sanchez though you don’t go to back to back AFC Championship games and not have any talent. Sanchez has no confidence, the New York media is notoriously rough on athletes. Sanchez seems to have fallen victim to them. With some confidence and a boost from the fans Sanchez may be that franchise quarterback New York paid him to be. 17 interceptions and a passer rating around 50 are the signs of a man with no confidence and a terrible team.
The Jets are a terrible football team plain and simple. They love to turn the ball over, they are all for giving gifts. But you can’t be too mad at the Jets, no wide recievers, no quarterbacks, a backup covered more on ESPN than real players, a running game thats a joke and coach with a foot fetish and an owner named Woody, what else can you expect out of this circus.
